Sleek Oh So Special VS MakeUp Revolution Iconic 3 eyeshadow Palettes

 Two of my favourite makeup brands are Sleek and Makeup Revolution. I love the range of both companies in eyeshadow palettes and will be doing a few of these 'Fight' posts!

So with the Sleek Oh So Special palette you get a gorgeous range of pinks, purples, copper and a few dark shades ideal for smokey looks. The palette hold 12 colours - shimmery and mattes, comes with a duel ended applicator and has a decent size mirror. The Sleek palettes are £7.99

The MakeUp Revolution Iconic 3 palette is half the price at £4! Again it contains 12 shimmery and matte colours - It doesn't contain as many copper shades or the black/greys in the Sleek palette. The packaging is not as nice as the Sleek one and this doesn't contain a mirror however the same duel end applicator is included.

So let the match begin...

The pigmentation of Iconic3 clearly outweighs Sleek's organiza however the metallic shimmy colour is very pretty and fresh looking. For me the winner here is ....

MakeUp Revolution

Again the pigmentation here of Iconic3 wins. The matte colours in the Sleek palette really don't transfer well and i think a few coats would be needed to get anywhere near one coat of the Iconic3 colour

Here i personally prefer the Sleek colour - with this shade of copper, a more metallic look works better. The Iconic3 colour is slightly darker and more flat.

Right: Sleek - Noir

This comparison is really just to show the darkest shade in the Iconic3 collection - it is more of a shimmery grey. The Sleek Noir is heavily pigmented and definatly a black every girl needs in her collection

Both these colours are stunning - Sleek's colour has a slight purple tint to it whereas Iconic3 is a pure pink shimmer. Both has beautiful pigmentation and would look gorgeous heavily cover the lid

Right: Sleek - Celebrate

Sleek has a slightly heavier pigmented colour here but its very slight. These are very similar colour which are gorgeous for creating smokey looks.

Winner: Sleek

 

 



There really isn't much between these two palettes in term of the quality of the shadows. Each has lovely pigmented colours. Sleek falls down on its mattes consistency - they do not transfer as well as Iconic3 and are more powdery. However the sleek palette has the added addition of the beautiful copper shades.

For me choosing between them comes down to nothing more than the cost - For half the price MakeUp Revolution's eyeshadows are top quality and long lasting. They are super heavily pigmented and creamy. I would recommend either of these palettes but personally i like to have a few nice mattes and that is where Sleek falls here.
