NYE LUSH Bubble Party Featuring Creamy Candy Bubble Bar

Yes i am the Bubble Queen ;)
Firstly may i wish everyone reading my blog (yes you) a very Blessed 2015. I am personally very glad to see the back of 2014 and i looking ahead, excited for beginning my Beauty course in Feb.

So onto this perfect pre-party bubble bath! This is only my second time using LUSH products - please click here for previous post on that) as i mentioned before my skin is very dry and sensitive so i have stayed well clear in the past. However this product will definitely be finding its way into my tub again....

This ladies (and gents?) is the Creamy Candy Bubble Bar £2.75
Crumble up the bar under the tap as you are running your bath
It has a sweet smell which isn't overpowering or sickly. It contains a blend of almond and cocoa butter, almond oil and butter chunks that melt onto the surface of the water - this time you really could feel the difference it makes to the water and your skin. The water was silky and left your skin feeling hydrated and velvety (no need to reach for the body lotion!) It even seemed to leave my hair feeling conditioned and smelling totally gorgeous!

I used the whole bar as i like lots of bubbles
This bubble bar in £2.75 which i think is a reasonable price really as a nice treat for yourself or a friend. Really you could get 2-3 bubble baths out of this but i love bubbles so i used the whole lot to give you an idea of how bubbly it is.

WARNING: Be careful when you step into the bath - it makes it a bit slippery :)

Thanks for reading and please leave comments on your favourite LUSH products - id love to hear from you. xxx

My First LUSH experience - Honey Bee

Yes its true - I am a LUSH Cosmetics Virgin - well i was until today! I was well aware of the brand however the overpowering smell in every shop honestly made my skin shiver... Having very sensitive (eczema ridden) skin the last thing i wanted to do was climb into a bath with a fizzing bomb that smelt of a sweet shop. So how did i get to this ..... you ask?

Well over the last 6 months - my eczema was cleared considerable - leaving just a dash of dryness. Having had to stay far (far!!) away from hot baths, bubbles and smelly soaps - i have definitely been indulging in my new found bathtime freedom! My lovely friend (knowing this) gave me a voucher for Lush and the rest is ... well... history.

Introducing the Honey Bee Bath Ballistic £3.35
So this little love contains honey, aloe vera, and rhassoul mud, a clay mined near Morocco’s Atlas Mountains. Honey soothes, retains moisture and is antiseptic, and aloe vera is cooling. Rhassoul mud has natural cleansing properties, and also helps condition and soften the skin.
It was the perfect starter for me as it really didn't smell of anything in the bath and was clearly gentle. It turned the water a merky yellow colour and to be honest i didn't feel the different in my skin until after i had used my normal intense lotion - Body Shop Hemp Body Butter £13.00 As i was drying my hair my skin felt tingly and softer than normal from just using the lotion.

WOooOOoo Fizzy!

WARNING: This does leave a yellow stain mark around the edge of your tub - it sort of ruins any relaxation when you have to scrub that off afterwards! It does come off with a bit of bath cleaner though!

Mmmm not so relaxing cleaning that yellow stain off :(
Overall i am happy with my first LUSH bath ballistic experience - this was one of the more gentle ones i got and i am so pleased it hasn't irritated my skin at all. Totally looking forward to my next LUSH bathtime!!

Daytime MakeUp Using #Selfie Palette

Create a natural everyday look to wear anywhere.

Today i hit the January sales with my gorgeous friend Maisie Moo . My main purchases happened in LUSH . Safe to say i got a tad carried away - anyway more on that in my coming blog posts (eeek! )
This is the look i was rocking today - Its a light natural look which mixes 4 colours from the #Selfie palette from 'I heart makeup' which are a sub-brand of the awesome MakeUp Revolution.

There is no contouring in this makeup so you don't have as many layers of products on your skin which is good for everyday - i mean who has the time!? So what is on my face? My 'Go to' foundation - Max Factor Luminizer which i find to be lightweight and light coverage. A dab of powder to set my foundation and then my favourite blush of this festive season ....

MakeUp Revolution Vivid Baked Blusher -
'Bang Bang you're dead' £2.50

NYX Diamond sparkle lipstick-
'Sparkling Satin' £2.95

Rimmel Exaggerate eye liner - Black
£5.29

I Heart MakeUp - #Selfie palette £4.99

4 Colours used and the placement to gradually create a shadow in the corner.

  1. Cover your eye in the primer (comes free with the #Selfie palette - Result!) Then apply 'Check us in' to the entire eye area including the brow bone and inside corner of eye.
  2. Then apply '#Chocfix' to the second half of the eyelid
  3. Use 'Goldigga' on the outer corner and along the crease of your eyelid as show in the picture above
  4. Apply 'How many likes' to the very corner of your eye.
  5. Use a large blending brush to mix all of the colours together so the colour changes gradually.
  6. Line the outer half of your eye (and add a small flick if you like) This will widen your eyes and create more of a 'dolls eye' look. I have had my Rimmel eyeliner for ages and i always pick this one to use from my collection - it never runs and i just love the brush on it!
  7. Finally Mascara, Mascara, Mascara!

Technic Makeup - Yay or Nay??!

My hubby brought me this Technic Vanity case £9.00 containing makeup for Christmas. To be totally honest i really wanted it for the box (as will come in handy when i start my beauty course in Feb! Yayy!!) However i thought i'd have a little look at the quality of the makeup and colour to share with you Pretties.

First Impression is its super cute - i love the little quads with differnet names!
I really like the lipsticks - Very creamy and gorgeous
colours! Definately a winner for me!!

Lipglosses are useless - hardly any difference in colour *Bin*
However the lipliners are nice!

Not a bad range of colours in 'Nearly nude' and 'neutral tones' quads
The only downfall in all these eyeshadow is the powdery consistency

These are standard - not really enough pigmentation though the black is
actually rather good.

A mix of some good and some terrible here - the light blue, bright green and pinks
can't be seen. The purples are good and so are the eyeliner pencils/

Eeeekk !! Yucky colours! :(

Overall the makeup is definitely a 50-50 on quality and colours. There is a few products that are decent (mainly the lipsticks!), the rest are just no good for me. The carry case is lovely though and i'm looking forward to using that for my course kits.

Thanks for reading - please comment and follow :) xxxx

Highlighter Heaven

If you want that gorgeous glow in a second you need at least one highlighter in your makeup collection. I have a mixture of different coloured highlighters which i choose dependant on the look i am going for. None of these are particularly expensive and are all really good quality.

MakeUp Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter
'Pink Lights' £3.00

MUA Undress your skin
'Irredescent Gold' £3.00

MUA Undress your skin
'Pink' £3.00
'

NYX Illuminator - 'Narcissistic' £9.00

 My Must have...

  1. MakeUp Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter £3.00 The pigmentation on this product is amazing. You really only need the smallest amount to give you a glow. It comes in 3 colours - The 'Pink Lights' (shown) plus 'Golden' and 'Peach' Lights. Although the 'Pink Lights' looks like a purpley pink colour it really comes out as a white (with maybe a tiny hint of pink). Thats why its my must have - This white pink goes with any eyeshadow / blush / bronzer look you maybe creating. But for £3 each - collect the set! ;)

Quick Contouring Help!!

Contouring has to be one of my favourite 'tricks' in makeup. There is nothing like having that gorgeous glowing skin that sparkles in all the right places! Now professionally you should work out which shape your face is - Are you an oval? Heart? Square? Round? And then use the tricks on the charts to adapt the look of your face.
My technique tends to be a little bit more honest. We all want lovely cheekbones and softened foreheads ... oh and maybe a more defined chin? So i adapt my contouring and highlighting to my desired look. I don't believe makeup should be about changing the way you look - more celebrating it and filling you with confidence!

The way i contour my face
Brown dots =Bronzer
White = Highlighter
Pink = Blush

Having said that if there is something about your face you wish to conceal slightly or accentuate use the highlight and shadow (bronzer) so it works for you... For example if you have a long thin nose (not saying thats a bad thing - i contour for that look - just an example) you would use the bronzer and highlighter in reverse to me so you would bronze the top of your nose and highlight the sides. This gives the impression of a wider nose. If you have high check bones you may want to conceal them slightly with the bronzer on them and highlight underneath or accentuate them with highlight on them and bronzer underneath.

My overall advice is to work it to your advantage - Sit down in the mirror and just have a play with the bronzer and highlighter. Always remember two important things though ...

  1. Always use a MATTE bronzer (Never ever shimmery!)
  2. Always blend with a large clean blusher brush afterwards ( incase you overdone it with one of the products - for me its normally blusher!)

Please browse my other posts on my Blusher and Bronzer collection to see which product i use and recommend. Highlighter's soon to follow.

Good Luck experimenting and please tag me in your selfies on IG if you try my looks my pretties xxx

Bronzer Brilliance

Continuing with the whole 'My collection' theme here are the bronzer i have...

I Don't have quite the love of bronzers that i have for blush (or even highlighters). Having pale skin it really isn't my 'go to' product. I really use the mattes for contouring and stay away from shimmery bronzer till the summer (if i get a tan!).

L - NYX Matte Bronzer 'Light' £8
R - Bed Head Glamma Powder 'Entice' £24.99

Diorskin Nude Tan 02 £33.95

NYX mosaic Latte £3.95

MakeUp Revolution Vivid Baked Blush - 'Hard Day'
£2.50
My Must haves...

  1. Matte Bronzer for contouring : NYX Matte Bronzer £8 This is a great one if you have light skin. Its not that heavy so you don't have to worry about overdoing it and making your contouring look too... false.
  2. Shimmery Bronzer : Last summer i used the Dior Nude quite a bit - its ok but it is not more than 12months old and it looks nackered already. The brush it comes with has started to leave hairs on my face (HATE!) so my 'go to' this summer will be the MakeUp revolution Vivid Baked Blush 'Hard Day' I love these blushes!!

My Blusher Obsession

It is safe to say Blusher is one of my all time favourite makeup products. I can't get enough. Whether you are fully made up or have no other makeup on - blush can transform your entire look. And lets face it there is nothing prettier than a blushing girlie!

All my blushers - Ahh makes my heart skip a beat!
This post is going to show you the watched colours of each - i will discuss my favs after the swatches!

Sleek Blush by 3 £9.99

MakeUp Revolution Vivid Baked Blushers £2.50

My Must Haves -

  1. MUA 'English Rose' £2.50 This is the perfect soft shade for wearing when you are in a rush and don't have time to do a full face.
  2. NYX Mosaic 'Paradise' £3.95 Want to really make your cheeks pop?! This is the one! I love love love this blush especially in the wintertime. Its a matte powder that holds throughout the day. Its so pigmented - it will last forever!
  3. MakeUp Revolution Vivid Baked Blush £2.50 I have every colour in this collection and they are my all time favs. I love the shimmer on them all and each colour (though they look very similar in pack) is totally different. My personal favourite is Bang Bang You're Dead .... Or maybe 'One For Playing Games' ... Or 'All I Think About Is You' ... oh i don't know they are all so gorgeous

Festive Looks

My Gold glittery party look
Stuck for New Years makeup looks or maybe you still have Christmas parties to attend (Lucky you!) Here are my Christmas looks... Its all about the Glitter... (about the glitter, about the glitter ...no matte!)

Look 1 - Party anyone!?

Using - NYX, MUA & Sleek

I really like this look if you are going out to a party or clubbing around Christmas/ New year. Its heavy on the gold and glitter and i'm wearing false lashes here just for extra volume. In the Arabian Nights shadow palette i used the top two colours and the copper shade at the bottom left. I would really recommend the  NYX jumbo pencils as the glitter really holds and they are so easy to use. You can apply them anywhere too!

NYX Glitter Jumbo Pencil -Gold

Sleek Arabian Nights Palette

Contouring with NYX Matte Bronzer - light,
MUA undress your skin highlighter - Golden
MakeUp Revolution baked blush - Bang bang your dead.
NYX Sparking Rose Lipstick

Look 2 - Meal out to celebrate!

Contouring -NYX matte bronzer in Light,
MakeUp Revolution Pink Highlighter &
MakeUp Revolution Baked blush One for playing games
NYX Candy Glitter Liner in Crystal
This is a more natural look but still with the touches of sparkle you need during this season. The Liquid liner was more trickly to use than the pencils - it takes longer to dry and does move more. However the glitter is so heavy that when the sun hits it, it sparkles so beautifully!!

MUA Essentials palette  -
used top left and end left

Look 3 - The big day!!

This is my celebration look. I wore this Christmas Day and will probably wear a very similar look on New Years. Its still natural in terms of the eyeshadow - a little more shadow to the crease though. The eyeliner is a purple MUA colour plus the NYX glitter liner over the top. I also used a much louder colour on my lips and cheeks - one of my favourite lipsticks from NYX

MUA Purple eyeliner which i actually
used the line lips (as it just works!)
Plus NYX Power lipstick

Sleek au naturel palette - used Bow, Cappuccino,
Moss and Taupe

NYX Matte Bronzer light, MUA
undress your face golden lights
MakeUp Rev vivid baked blusher
All i think about is you

My Love!! NYX Doll eye mascara
