I'm still here

I am sorry for my recent absence from posts. I have been so busy with work and beauty school. Both are going really well and i feel truly happy.

I should be doing my manicure and pedicure assignment right now but as my blog has been so badly neglected i thought id give you a quick update.

Next 2 Saturdays are my assessments at beauty school for manicure and pedicure including the on-line ! I'm actually feeling really excited about this. I have practised loads! so i feel confident about it all. Next are facial which i can not wait for. it includes 25 minutes of massage!!! Any excuse to do some massage - i love it.

I am loving my job at Lush so much and my knowledge on products in growing. I genuinely love all the people there (which is rare!) so i am very happy.

The new Easter stock rocks - will do a post on that ASAP. I'm not greatly impressed with the golden egg, It smells lovely but WAY too much glitter - i know i know - can you ever have to much glitter? errrrmmmm YES when your on your hands and knees scrubbing the tub for 15 minutes! Plus its not a fizzy bath bomb it sort of rolls around like a melting potato!
My favourite of the Easter stock has the be the carrot soap! It smells divine. As soon as i saw the thing in the delivery box i knew i had to get some. It looks amazing too. Definitely as winner!

Hope to be back soon My Pretties

Mothers Day Lush Diamonds

Secret Garden £2.95
All of us Lush lovers get so excited about any new products and if you haven't already been in to a store to have a sniffy of these beauties  - Go! - Like right now!! ;)
They are a real mix of floral scents- some heavier like 'Ultraviolet' and 'Secret Garden' - and some lighter with more rose such as'Mother Superior' and 'Rose bombshell'
Ultraviolet £4.75

Mother Superior £3.75
The smell of Ultraviolet is quite strong when you first take a wiff of it. I wasn't sure i liked it to start with. This bubblebar is huge - similar to the Comforter in size. When i saw half of it demoed it created loads ( ! ) of bubbles and turns the water a gorgeous purple colour - plus the scent is subtler! It has violet leaf and jasmine in ( i guess the jasmine is what i disliked about the smell initially) - I will get some pics when i use this in my tub. Stay tuned!

Mother Superior has more of a sweet citrusy floral smell to it - it adds some Sicilian lemon oil and orange blossom to jasmine which i think softens it. I wouldn't have guessed it has jasmine in. Yet to see this one at work!

Rose £2.95
Isn't the Rose Bubblebar just the cutest - it is rather small in size so i am eager to see how much bubble you get from this stunner. The smell is goregeous - Rose absolute, rose hip oil and my all time favourite ingredients - cocoa butter. I am expecting a lot of this little beauty. It is definitely a recipe for a truly indulgent bath!! Eeeekk can't wait!

Peace out Brussel Sprouts

Lush Life

Becoming a fully fledged Lushie has, so far, been an amazing experience. I have learnt so much about the products and the values of the company. There really seems to be no end to the growth of my passion and love for the company and their products.

First day at Lush! Excited!
So back to the products - We were each given some samples of the top sellers - Mask of Magnaminty, Dream Cream, Ocean Salt, R&B, Angels on bare skin, big shampoo, ultrabland and figs and leaves soap.

I have tried most of these now and the ones that stand out for me are Dream Cream - packed full of soothing ingredients like oat milk, chamomile blue oil and rose water this is a fabulous soft simple moisturer for sensitive skin. Oats are amazing on eczema as they contain antihistamines. Result!

I also feel in love with Ultrabland - made with almond oil, rose water, beeswax and honey it removes dirt and make up without stripping away the skins natural oils. This worked particularly well for me as my skin is so dry. It is more of a oily cleansers than the solid ones but for the hard winter months this gives a lovely protective film for your skin. I simply massage a small amount all over my face then wipe off with a toner or water! Easy!

Lush products I've been trying ...

Angels on bare skin

In all honesty I can't choose a favourite between these face cleansers - so I've taken to using 'Let the good times roll' as an AM cleanser and 'Angels on bare skin' for PM ! (I intend to get my hands on 'Dark angels' and 'Herbalism' as I am loving the solid cleansers!)

Let the good times roll
Let the good times roll

This is a lovely gentle exfoliating cleanser that has a doughie smell which is why I love using it first thing in the morning. I take a small amount, add a little warm water to create a paste then simply wash your face. It contains maize flour and polenta (packed with vits and minerals) which gentle exfoliate. I find it soothing and relieves any tightness in my skin.

Angels on bare skin

I haven't been working at Lush more than 5 minutes and I've already heard the love for this cleanser (along with Dark angels) so I thought I'd better see what all the fuss was about. This has a strong smell of lavender due to containing the flowers and oil (so if you don't like that scent - I know people who don't- this isn't for you.) For me Lavender is a bedtime oil which is why i use this as my night time cleanser. It is a based on a medieval recipe - that's cool - and contains kaolin which absorbs dirt and grease. This causes a tad of tightness for me as i have dry skin so i do need a moisturiser afterwards. The thing I love about this one is that it seems to even out any redness in my skin and leaves it looking bright. Once watered down the paste clearly contains almond milk which I'm sure is responsible for the above effect. It is also 100% natural ingredients which makes it a serious winner!

Now onto the soaps i've been trying...
Lust soap 19g

Sultana of soap 22g
This is the 19g sample of Lust soap I received from ebay. The first thing i noticed in the scent of this soap was the Jasmine. It has a weaker but still apparent, similarity to the Floating Flower smell. Jasmine and I are definitely not friends. It just doesn't do it for me. I didn't find this soap moistured my dry skin and although it looks pretty with tiny gold sparkles in it - these didn't transfer to my skin.

The Sultana of soap - Yep it certainly is! I don't read the ingredient / properties of the products I use until after i've made my own mind up on them. I find this way I am less bias on results.  My first impressions of this was it smells good - a milky, cheerful smell. I was a tad confused by the dried fruit it contained! I'd never heard of them being used in a soap!
Anyway it lathers into a milky white consistence and i tell you i just kept smoothing my skin in it - it smelt lovely and was soft on my skin! I came to discover it contains Bergamot - ahhh my bestest buddy!! And has a combination of oils to aid in moisturing even the driest of skins - yep thats me! I will definitely be getting a big chunk of this beauty!

Auntie Tickets Kitchen Surprise Cupcakes!

Auntie Ticket's Kitchen Cupcakes

I have now formally received my offer of employment with Lush and i am on cloud 9! I had a trial shift last week which was about 90 mins on the shop floor interacting with customers, discussing products and showing a few demos. It was really fun as most of the customers are Lushies and love the products as much as me!

Yesterday my amazingly talented friend Kirstine surprised me with these stunning cupcakes to say 'well done' on my new job! I was simply blown away but her kindness and thoughtfulness. It was actually her Lush voucher that started my addiction!! Kirstine has her own Cake company called 'Auntie Ticket's Kitchen.' They are fresh, handmade, super yummy cakes at good prices. You can always be sure of personal service and top quality presentation! That is why I had her make my wedding cake!
Too gorgeous to eat!

Yummmmmyy

How amazing is this Twilight bomb cupcake!!

Happy Mail - Bath and body works

I remember as a little girl on holiday in Florida visiting the Bath and Body works store and being simply blown away by all the products and wonderful smells in there. My mum brought a body lotion that had beautiful glittery sparkles in it. I remember that lotion lasting for ever and always coming out at Christmas for party sparkly!

My very best friend went to live in the US last year with her American husband. I miss her loads but no matter how far she may be we always stay in touch and up to date with each others lives...
Anyhoo ... due to Bath and Body works not posting to the UK (Boooooo!! :( ) I asked her if she would mind sending my order onto me.

And here it is!! I love it all so much and now feel even more devastated they don't ship to us English peeps! The smells are just so yummy and strong. The candles are diddy - they are the mini ones - but the smell is huge!

The body lotions make me smell so nice and hydrate my skin with the mix of shea butter, vitamin E and essential oils scents.

The pocketbacs i have wanted to try ever since i saw one - they have lovely scents and do not dry out my hands (which i was worried about). I am not a germ freak at all - cant be with 2 horses and a dog but I thought this would be perfect to have around when i start beauty therapy, especially when touching others people's faces.

I got all these items in the sale after Christmas and it was so cheap! The lotions were about £1.50 each! How amazing is that!
However the postage to the UK was expensive about the same as the order itself. It was still worth it  though and worked out at only £2.50 an item!

Gosh I want them to ship to UK!!!

Let me know your favourite Bath and body work scents! I can't smell before i buy so i'd love to hear your opinions my pretties!

Pong Wiffy Floating Flower

I will admit to this being the most beautiful display from a bath bomb I have seen. The stunning colours froth as the bomb dissolves softening the water and your skin. It takes its time so you can really appreciate the colours and take lots of pictures (if your like me!)

Now onto the 'pong wiffy' part - so i ordered this online so i didn't have a sniffy of the bomb before i brought it - if i had i probably have quickly put it down.
It has a very overpowering smell! You are either going to love it or hate it - personally I... mmm...  I don't want to say i HATE any of Lush's products so i'll say i strongly dislike this smell! I wouldn't buy this again. I think it is the strong jasmine smell that puts me off.
